Bed and Breakfast Colosseo

Our family has lived for four generations in the Celio district of Rome, a beautiful “pocket” neighborhood adjacent to the Colosseum. We know from childhood every nook and cranny of the Celio: each and every trattoria; every wine bar; every shopkeeper; every service provider. So when, back in 2004, we launched Eats and Sheets Colosseo B+B, we determined to use our personal experience in the neighborhood as the basis for the kind of hospitality we offered. A kind of hospitality much more personal than what people find in a “regular” hotel accommodation.

Terraces, for example, are a huge part of everyday Roman life. And at Eats and Sheets B+B Colosseo, we have terraces galore, where you can not only have breakfast, but also stretch out and relax after the long days you will undoubtedly spend admiring the wonders of the Eternal City.
Our original design goals were twofold: On the one hand, we wanted to offer you maximum comfort. But at the same time, we wanted each of our rooms to be unique, different from each other, thus hopefully conveying the passion we bring to our work with you.
All of our rooms, both in the main building and in buildings in the immediate neighborhood, were completely remodeled in November 2012. All are equipped with the necessities of 21st-century living: private bath, individually controlled climate control, high-definition satellite TV, free wi-fi internet, hairdryers, and a safe for valuables. In addition, we are fanatics about bed comfort: You will find all our bedrooms equipped with wonderfully comfortable Memory mattresses and pillows, as well as ergonomic bedframes.

Most recently, we have decided to contribute in our small way to a greater respect for the environment. For one thing, we use environmentally friendly products for housekeeping. For another, the various components of the toiletry kit which you will find in the bathroom are produced by small Italian family businesses which work with natural biodegradable materials.

We also participate in the Eugea Project. This is an association of entomologists based at the University of Bologna which encourages a kind of “private ecology”. In concrete terms, this has involved us in the creation of a “mini-plantation” which allows us to offer our guests a most unusual gift: a packet of seeds which you can take home to plant in a public or private green space.

Last but not least, we contribute one euro for each reservation made through our website to Project Good Times, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the humanitarian and social conditions of communities and populations living in difficult conditions. We will update you on the progress of Good Times projects through mailing lists.

One last word: In all honesty, we feel that the services we offer, our ultra-personal approach, and the various other initiatives we have taken more than rival those of the best hotels. Still, we don’t pretend to run a family business like a 5-star hotel. No spacious lobby, no 24-hour concierge, no uniformed staff, no celebrity chef (though my mother makes a mean lasagna!). If you want 5-star, PLEASE try the Hassler or the Eden. You’ll be ecstatic. But if what you’ve read about us so far appeals, we invite you to be in touch, so that we can

Location

Eats & Sheets Colosseo is located in the Celio neighborhood, right in the historic center of Rome, just a few steps from the Colosseum and close to many of Rome’s major sites of historical and archaeological interest. The neighborhood is well served with restaurants, shops, and all other services you can imagine.

From Fiumicino (Leonardo da Vinci) airport
